Environment Systems New Recruits

Environment Systems has appointed three new members of staff to support its growing portfolio of project work. Ian Carle has joined as an Environmental Consultant, Emma Whittick has joined as a Statistical GIS Consultant and Stephanie Ties has joined as a Remote Sensing Analyst.

Ian Carle

Ian joined the company in May 2011 and is currently working on the data coordination and analysis elements of the agri-environment monitoring schemes in Wales, namely Tir Gofal and Tir Cynnal. Ian has extensive local authority experience having worked recently for local authorities in England and Scotland, specialising in biological records and coordinating the National Biodiversity Network locally, with the help of local biodiversity partnerships. He also has worked for a number of UK Wildlife Trusts, tackling everything from reserve management and Phase 1 surveys to IT support and training.

Emma Whittick

Emma who joined the company in June 2011 has recently completed a PhD with the University of Wales, Aberystwyth in Ionospheric Modelling, though her background involves a great deal of mathematics as well as physics. Her role with Environment systems is as a Statistics and GIS consultant. She is currently involved with both the Welsh and Scottish agri-environment projects, providing specialist statistics support for the collection and analysis of the data.

Stephanie Ties

Stephanie joined Environment Systems in August 2011 as a Remote Sensing Analyst and is currently working on a project investigating the suitability of satellite data to assess the condition of the Georgia Rangelands, vast steppe grasslands in the Caucasus. Stephanie has a BSc in Geography and recently completed her MSc in Remote Sensing and GIS at Aberystwyth University.
